Promises of War
I was looking for people on the street to photograph. Instead of hanging on the street, I head to the Imperial War Museum where I thought people will be more relaxed and more in the mood to collaborate with me. There I met a group of students from a school in Brighton that prepares them to go to the Army and then most inevitably to war.
They talk about it with great excitement and expectation and while we talked and I photographed I realized that they all took a military position. Some of them took it really serious, others took a more relaxed approach. This was something that in my view represents the way that they face not just life, but as well the role of serving their country and fighting wars.
This is a tribute not only to the ones pictured here but to the one’s that lost their young life’s in conflicts all around the world, sometimes even without a believable reason.
